Mengxi Zhang 张梦溪

Mengxi Zhang (born 1989, Jilin, China) lives and works in London, UK.

My paintings seek unfamiliarity, resisting certainty and the confines of language. I am drawn to perspectives that shift between the microscopic and the aerial, between intimacy and vastness. In this space, meanings leak, spill over, and contradictions coexist. Each painting becomes a site of convergence—where material and immaterial, body and language, containment and excess continually negotiate their boundaries.
